  • If it restored anything, I can't tell. I needed to recover all my drivers from an old backup and port them to my current setup (same system/OS). Everything backed up okay (creating a 440MB file), but when I attempt a restore, there is no message afterwards tell you if the restore completed. About 1 second of disk activity (too quick to read/restore 440MB worth of files) and no message telling me what was done.. if anything. If the restoration was a success or failed, it would be nice if the program told me so. :(

  • The program works perfect and I was thinking of donate, but..in Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit I can´t maximize the program. It shows a little window that can´t be modified. Sorry but when it gets fixed I´ll donate.

It's good to backup your drivers before a reinstallation. It's also good to just backup your drivers occasionally in addition to your personal files and folders!

There's 2 ways to do it. Note that both cases require you point to the device driver's INF file (this is the driver's Installation Setup File required by Windows)

How Do I Backup My Drivers On Windows 7

  1. If the Add New Hardware Wizard pops-up, point it to the folder containing the device folder backup
    > This folder will include the device driver's INF file
    > The Hardware Wizard should see the INF file and then load the driver. You may need to reboot to complete device installation
  2. Or, to install a driver manually, just go directly to the device driver's backup folder, rt click the INF file, select Install then reboot. Windows should redetect the device hardware and complete the driver install

  • Usually, when you download a driver you see it as an executable (EXE file). The EXE file [U]may[/U] contain more then just the device driver! e.g. it might include application software. This is often the case for Graphics and Audio drivers.
