Download the software for your operating system and model of the Philips SpeechMike handheld microphone. The software is the same for all SpeechMike models, however differs with respect to operating system (PC and Mac). The following links provide you with download locations for the most recent software:
- SpeechMike Premium Air (SMP 4000) software & drivers — click on the Support tab once the page loads
Download the Speech Control software to your Desktop or other location.
Extract the Speech Control Software from the Downloaded Zipped File
Right-click the zipped software file and Extract the file’s contents to a convenient location such as your Desktop.

The extracted folder will contain a readme file in .txt format, the software executable, PhilipsDeviceControlCenterSetup.exe, and a variety of other installation files.

Initiating the Install of the Philips Device Control Center Software
Within the extracted software folder, click the PhilipsDeviceControlCenterSetup.exe file, and Run.
The installation should perform just as any other software installation progresses.
Repairing the Software Installation
In some cases, you may be prompted to Modify, Repair, or Remove the software. Choose Repair.

Click Install to begin the installation.

Completing the Install of the Philips Device Control Center Software
Click Finish to complete the installation.

The Philips Device Control Center icon will appear on your desktop and under your Start menu.
Importing Philips Device Control Center Configuration
If you have received a complete speech recognition package from Speakeasy Solutions, there will be a folder in your MyDocuments folder. This folder is prefaced with SeSPhilipsSpeechMike. Within this folder is a configuration file with a .pacc extension.
If this is a clean installation (not an upgrade), import this configuration file to load the optimized Speakeasy Solutions configuration, which you may then modify further according to your preferences.
If you have exported your own configuration, or wish to use another configuration file, import if desired.
Start the Philips Device Control Center
Before you start the Philips Device Control Center, ensure that your SpeechMike is connected to your computer. If it is not connected, plug the SpeechMike into your computer. NOTE: if your computer needs to install the drivers for your SpeechMike, restart your computer after the drivers have been installed and carry on as follows.
Start the Speech Control software in one of the following ways:
- Click on the Start Menu> All Programs> Philips Speech Control> Philips Device Control Center
- Click the Philips Device Control Center icon which is likely in the hidden portion of your task tray
Import the Configuration
Click Application control> Import.

Browse to the configuration location, choose the .pacc file and click Open.

Choose to Replace the existing configuration and modify/edit as desired once imported.
Apply the configuration to the Philips SpeechMike. Click Application control> Apply.

Click the PDCC icon in the software, choose About….
